April

Blossom by blossom the spring begins.

We took our annual bike ride down 'blossom lane'...
the Luckakuck Creek trail.

On a sunny Sunday afternoon we cycled to Harrison Hot Springs...
with a detour that included the Harrison Tulip Festival.

They really have the perfect location there...

...with gardens around the old farm buildings...

...and Mt. Cheam as a backdrop.

A few days before Easter we took Uncle Jake and Aunt Maggie for a drive...
and out for dinner at Rowena's in Harrison Mills.

Aunt Maggie gave me the floral wreath/crown that I wore as flower girl at their wedding 69 years ago.
She had kept it all these years.

Three days later their apartment burned...
and they got out safely...
but all their possessions were gone and they found themselves homeless.
Not easy at any age...but they are ninety!
Once again, they handled this challenge with grace.

Cheam Wetlands at the golden hour on Easter Sunday.

We celebrated Easter on Easter Monday this year.
Ranen was missing, since she was still at Biola...
but Jasper came in her place.
Kris and Lina have a new Bernese Mountain dog...
nine weeks old.

We spent a few days in Vancouver at the end of the month.

We stayed at the Worldmark resort...
and cycled everywhere from there.

We biked the Arbutus trail and had lunch on the patio at the Milltown Bar and Grill.

A Canadian icon...the Canada goose...
standing on guard at Canada Place.

Morning coffee on the patio. An April treat!

The winter wheat came off the field by the end of the month.

I had dental surgery in Langley...
and now have a gap-toothed smile.
Temporarily.

Maggie is in full-swing track mode and competed at Oregon State University...
where she did well against top athletes from the western states.

We got in quite a few bike rides...
and my odometer turned over 5000 kms before the month was over.

Sunshine, blue skies, and spending time together in the great outdoors.
It was a good month.
